Sideways movement
Q: How can I improve the sideways movement of the wash basin/support arm/shower chair etc. mounted on the horizontal track?
A1: The horizontal track may need cleaning and lubrication. Wash with a gentle soap, wipe and let dry. Use a silicon spray to lubricate and wipe off surplus silicon.
A2: In areas with chalky water the horizontal track may have spots of chalk sediments. Use 3 parts of 30% acetic acid to 7 parts of water and afterwards wipe the products over with a cloth wrung out in clean water.

Colour range
Q: What are the available colours?
A: Most Pressalit Care products are available in 5 different colours: white, red (RAL 3003), dark blue (RAL 5011), and grey. Pressalit Care toilet seats and folding seats, which are made from urea, are available in eight colours: white, bahamabeige, red (RAL 3003), manhattan, dark blue (RAL 5011), star white, calypso, and pergamon. The products in the Pressalit Care Basic range are only available in white with pale grey plastic parts.
Q: Why have these colours been chosen?
A: Most of the products we sell are white. However, in many situations it is useful to have bright colours to assist the visually impaired or to create contrast to help find the toilet or the shower corner. The bright colours can be used to draw attention to centres of activity in the bathroom.
Wash basin bracket – all types
Q: How can I improve the sideways movement of the basin?
A1: The horizontal track may need cleaning and lubrication. Wash with a gentle soap, wipe and let dry. Use a silicon spray to lubricate and wipe surplus silicon.
A2: In areas with chalky water the horizontal track may have spots of chalk sediments. Use 3 parts of 30% acetic acid to 7 parts of water and afterwards wipe the products over with a cloth wrung out in clean water.
Q: What could help the wash basin bracket move smoothly up and down?
A1: The rods need grease, put the wash basin in the highest position, remove the front plate, and smear grease on the 2 metal rods.
A2: If the wash basin bracket is still difficult to move up and down, the rods may not be completely parallel. 1- Press the wash basin to the bottom. 2 – Remove the top cap on the vertical track and loosen the top screws to the rods. 3 – Move the wash basin to the top. 4 – Tighten the screws again. 5 – Test the result.
Wash basin bracket with electric motor
Q: My wash basin bracket – R4660 – has a lever control. Can I change it to a remote control?
A: Yes. If you order the LA8828, it is easily changed. The mounting instruction for R4660 shows how.
Q: How much power does the wash basin bracket use?
A: The transformer uses 80 W at maximum load (80 kg) and nearly 0 W in “stand-by” mode.
Q: Why does the wash basin bracket suddenly not react to activation?
A: The thermostatic fuse will switch off when it is too hot. The height adjustment will work again after it has cooled down for a few minutes.
Q: Where should the transformer be mounted?
A: The transformer should be mounted in a dry room separate from the bathroom or under the ceiling.
Q: Is it possible to convert a height adjustable wash basin bracket (R4260) into a bracket with both vertical and horizontal adjustment (R4660)?
A: Yes, it is possible. To convert you need following parts: 1 x R8851, 1 x R8839, 2 x T4409, 2 x LA3309, 4 x T4441, 2 x R4556 and 2 x T3207 (short bits of about 10 mm)
Wash basin bracket with gas cylinder
Q: Why does the wash basin “slide down”, when the lever is moved upwards?
A1: The wash basin is too heavy for the gas cylinder. You can order a stronger gas cylinder from Pressalit Care
A2: The gas cylinder needs to be changed. Make sure, the wash basin is fixed in one of the grooves, or it will fall down when the gas cylinder is removed. Remove front plate. Remove old gas cylinder and insert new gas cylinder. In case you find it difficult to insert the new gas cylinder you can order a special tool from Pressalit Care, which makes it easier.
Q: What are the intervals between the positions to which the wash basin can be adjusted?
A: The wash basin can be adjusted in intervals of 5 mm in the entire 300 mm range of its adjustability.
Wash basin bracket - manual
Q: Is it possible to convert a height adjustable wash basin bracket (R4140) into a bracket with both height and horizontal adjustment (R4540)?
A: Yes, it is possible. To convert you need the following kit: 1 x RT750.
Flexible feed and waste system
Q: What is the dimension of the waste tube?
A: The waste tube has a diameter of 32 mm, most common in bathrooms. For kitchens the diameter is often 40 mm.
Q: Do the pipes have a VA approval in Denmark?
A: The R2081, R2084, R2085 are all VA-approved. These article numbers are made of a plastic material and are therefore less pliable than the other feed pipes.
Q: Is there a water trap in the flexible feed/waste system from Pressalit Care?
A: There is no water trap in the flexible feed/waste system.
Q: Where should you place the water trap?
A: We recommend that the water trap be placed in the wall or near the floor. If you choose to place the trap under the wash basin, it will be difficult for a wheel chair user to come close to the wash basin, as the trap takes up space under the wash basin.
Electrical products
Q: Can I do anything myself if my electrical product does not work?
A1: First try to squeeze the plugs more firmly together. Often it can be difficult to squeeze them together, so a little tip could be to grease them with some silicon or spit and then try to squeeze them together again. A typical mistake is that the plugs have not been squeezed properly together from the start.
A2: Check to make certain that the plus and minus are connected correctly.
Q: I press the remote control, it gives a click but nothing happens?
A: Check the relay to see that it has not switched itself off. If it has, simply switching it back on should solve the problem.
Shower chair
Q: Is it possible to convert a vertically adjustable shower chair 410 mm into a shower chair that can be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically?
A: Yes, it is possible. To convert the shower chair 410 mm from vertically adjustable to vertically and horizontally adjustable, you need the following conversion kit: 1 x RT750.
Q: Is it possible to convert a vertically adjustable shower chair 310 mm w/arm supports (R7151) into a shower chair that can be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically (R7551)?
A: Yes, it is possible. To convert the product you need the following parts: 1 x LA8850, 1 x LA8838, 2 x LA3315, 2 x LA3322, 2 x LA3334 and 2 x T4441. Similarly, these parts may be used to convert a height adjustable shower chair 310 mm w/backrest (R7150) into an R7550.
Nursing Bench
Q: The nursing bench can move neither up nor down, what can I do to make it work again?
A: Check all the plugs and see if they are squeezed properly together.
Q: If all plugs are placed correctly and they are not loose?
A: Then check the thermostat fuse to see if it has blown. Sometimes it can be necessary to turn the power to the transformer of: This will make the transformer reset itself, and it will then work again.
Support arms
Q: We have an old support arm that wobbles slightly. Have you done anything to avoid this in the product?
A: In May 2001 the support arms where improved which has eliminated wobble in the support arms. The improvement is only made on the support arms without spring, because there is not enough space in the support arm with the spring.
Q: Is it possible to have a lock on the support arms?
A1: Yes, it is possible. The support arm can be locked when it is horizontal, when it is vertical or in both horizontal and vertical positions.
A2: No, in the support arm with spring counter balance this is, unfortunately, not possible. The spring takes up the space needed to insert the lock inside the hinge.
Q: Is it possible for the customer to change an R3146 into an R3546 or an R3148 into an R3548?
A: Yes, it is possible. To make the changes the customer needs the following parts: 1 x LA8838, 2 LA1117, 2 x R3330, 2 x R3322 and 2 x RLA3315.
