Environment

Environment policy

It is the goal of Pressalit Group to live in harmony with our
surroundings; neighbours as well as the beautiful nature
around us.

We wish to minimize the environmental impact of our
operations and activities, with due respect to our competitiveness.

We wish to continue the development of the existing energy control system for the purpose of a still better utilization
of the purchased energy.

We commit ourselves to continual improvement in the environmental area and we commit ourselves to preventing pollution.

Pressalit Group undertakes, as a minimum, to observe all
legislative requirements within the environmental area and
furthermore observe our own requirements on production
and operation as listed below.
We include environmental as well as energy concerns as an
integral part of all major decisions concerning changes in
our activity.

• We monitor and record our energy consumption.
By replacement, modernization and adaptation of
facilities and equipment, efforts are made to reduce the
energy consumption.
• Where at all possible, potentially hazardous materials
are replaced by environmentally friendly ones.
• We search for internal and external ways to recover and
recycle waste from our production.
• The company cooperates actively with the authorities on
environmental issues.
• We wish to extend and improve collaboration with our
suppliers and subcontractors on environmental issues
concerning both process and product.
• The employees are being motivated to a high
degree of environmental awareness through training and
measurable objectives and targets.
• Pressalit A/S, being a member of Plastindustrien i
Danmark (The Danish Plastics Federation), will pursue
an environmental policy that does not contradict the
environmental policy of Plastindustrien.

Environmental regulation

Pressalit is subject to the approval obligation laid down in
part 5 of the Danish Environmental Protection Act. I.e. we
have an environmental approval and a sewage discharge
authorization setting out the main frames (conditions) for
our production site.
Supervisory authority is Ry Kommune (the municipality of
Ry).

Statement of green accounts

Every year - with reference to the Danish Environmental
Protection Act - Pressalit Group is to submit a statement of
green accounts to the Danish Commerce and Companies
Agency. The purpose is to provide public information concerning Pressalit Group’s environmental doings and actions, including among other things a summary of our own controlling measurements, information on our environmental development during the last 5 years, our environmental policy, and information on the forward pointing efforts and activities (our environmental objectives).

Environment and quality management

In 1993, Pressalit Group obtained the Quality Certificate of Approval, ISO 9001. Four years later we obtained the Environmental Certificate of Approval, ISO 14001. The Environment and Quality Management Systems contribute to concretizing issues such as care, precision and consideration, which are the basis for Pressalit's doings and actions.

Working environment

Safety issues have always had a high priority at Pressalit. We have a documented policy for working environment and a formalized procedure for the safety and health work. In the
day-to-day running, we work closely together with Bedriftssundhedstjenesten (employees' health service) and
Arbejdstilsynet (the official supervision authority), with
whom we maintain an open and fruitful dialogue. Furthermore we have a well-functioning safety organisation, which - in addition to attending to day-to-day responsibilities, meet every three months to discuss relevant issues.
